Farmers’ Market

New to the Market Place, summer of 2011, is the Monroe County Farmers' Market.

The event has recently moved from the main street location, for  a more central location.  You'll find plants, vegetables, and fruits grown right here in Monroe County by local farmers.  It doesn't get any fresher than that!

Why?

Some people ask, "Why would the Market Place host competition?"  Yes, the Farmers' Market can be looked at as competition to our own produce department, but we look at it as a partnership.  We believe in supporting small local business, and this is where that begins.  If you find it at the Farmers' Market, great.  If you don't, try in the store.

 "We're a farming town...it's the right thing to do.  We're a community store, and we need to be involved with the community."
